MSIL has launched the Maruti Suzuki Eeco new model 2019 with updated safety features. The safety features in Eeco minivan 2019 complies with the new safety norms which got effective from April 1.
The car was last updated 2-years ago when it was made compliant with BS4 norms.
Eeco new model 2019 Price and Changes
Under the new offering, the new Eeco car’s price in India has been kept at Rs 3.55 lakhs (Ex-Showroom Price).
The new Eeco continues to be available in 5-seater, 7-seater, and Cargo Van options. However, the 7-seater Eeco variant is still not offered with AC which has been a long sought after demand.
Under the changes made to new Eeco include, the introduction of ABS with EBD, driver side airbag, driver and front passenger seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors and high-speed alert system. Not to forget, these safety features will be compulsorily featured in all models.
A prominent mechanical change that has been made to Eeco latest model is the use of the new steering wheel. The steering wheel is taken from Alto to make airbag system work with the new model. The other features of 2019 Eeco remain the same.
Eeco Engine remains the same
The newly introduced 1196 cc Eeco minivan receives the same 1.2-liter petrol engine. Additionally, it is also offered in CNG variant. The 4-cylinder van’s petrol engine produces 72 BHP power at 101 Nm peak torque. In the petrol version, Maruti Suzuki Eeco delivers 15.37 kmpl of mileage.
Likewise, Eeco CNG outputs 63 BHP power at 85 NM of peak torque. The CNG version of Eeco has a mileage of 21.94 kilometers per kilogram. Both engines (petrol/CNG) come with a 5-speed gearbox. There is no diesel engine option.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited had introduced Eeco in 2010. Since then, it has sold more than 6 Lakhs units. The discontinuation of Maruti Omni van recently has made it the sole replacement for the classic van.
