The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has recently launched its new scooter Aprilia Storm 125 in India. The lucrative option is that with a down payment of just Rs 4,999, you can bring the scooter home.
The two-wheeler has been launched in the 125cc segment where Honda Activa 125 is its main rival. The new scooter specialty is its pricing and attractive design.
Pricing and Loan Options
Aprilia already has SR 125 and SR 150 scooter models in India. But, while these are relatively in the expensive segment, Aprilia Storm 125 is the cheapest scooter from the company in India. The price of Aprilia Storm 125 is Rs 65,000 (Ex-Showroom) which is Rs 8000 cheaper than Aprilia SR 125.
What is New in Aprilia SR 125?
Look wise, the Storm 125 looks quite similar to SR125 and SR 150 scooters. The company has introduced SR 125 in two colours – matte yellow and matte red.
Among the biggest change in SR 125 included the use of 12-inch large alloy wheels. Not to forget, the tires are tubeless.
The front of the scooter uses 120/80 sized wheels. While rear side uses 130/80 size wheels. The company has introduced the scooter only in drum brake option.

The CVT gearbox attached scooter is powered by 9.6 ps engine which generates 9.9 Nm of torque. The capacity of the single cylinder air-cooled engine in this Aprilia scooter is 124.9cc.
Mileage/ Top speed of Aprilia SR 125
The ARAI mileage for the Aprilia SR 125 petrol is 37 kmpl. The 125cc Aprilia Scooter has been given 6.5 litre fuel tank.
The company claimed a top speed of SR 125 scooter is 120 km/h. However, it has been actually found to be 115 km/h.
Positioning of Aprilia SR 125
The new 125cc scooter by Aprilia – SR 125 is targeted in the 125cc scooters category in India. The cooter is also offered with free labour service for 1 year and 5 years warranty.
In this segment, Aprilia SR 15 will have to compete with Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125 which are quite popular.
Aprilia has been able to attract young buyers towards its previous offerings with its cool scooter designs and now it banks on the same with SR 125.
