Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch about 7 new cars in the upcoming 3 years.The company will launch 2 – 3 cars every year in the Indian car market. Not much information has been available about these cars but there are some possible names making rounds in the automobile circuit.
It is also worth- mentioning that the number being said by the company is quite small. Every year, the company launches 7 – 8 new cars or update models in the market, which is not enough. It is noteworthy that all cars must be updated according to BS-VI standards by 2020. Hence, it can be said that the company is preparing to update the cars from now.
SX4 S-Cross
We are talking about the new cars of the company which can be launched in the next three years. Of these, the name of the SX4 S-Cross is figuring on the top.The car has already been showcased in Brazil. At present, the company is selling this car as a premium crossover, but the car is still far from success.
In Brazil, this car was shown as a rough and tough SUV. It is expected that this will be the newest car of the company which can be launched next year. For your information, the company currently holds 47 per cent stake in the Indian market and for the coming time, the company has made more changes in its strategy. These may include bringing new option for new platforms, new engines, models and automatic transmission.
The company has also targeted the sale of 20 lakh cars annually. The company has targeted to sell 1.5 lakh cars equipped with Auto Gearshift (AGS), automatic gearbox and CVT in this fiscal year, while by 2020, it aims to reach 3 lakh units. The current sales figure is close to 94,000.
Wagon R 7- seater MPV
The company’s next new offer may be the Wagon R 7- seater MPV. Because Maruti Suzuki Stingray has been made a different variant of the Wagon R. In such situation, there is much possibility of the arrival of this car. It will be offered as a family utility vehicle, which will replace between the Ertiga MPV and the Maruti Van.
Grand Vitara SUV
The third car of the company can be the Grand Vitara SUV, which was discontinued some years ago. In addition, the petrol version of Vitara Brezza as well as Brezza’s AMT variant may be also launched. The update version of the Alto K10 is likely to come too.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The news about the arrival of all 4- meter Gypsy has stopped now, but the possibilities can not be completely ruled out. If this car comes then it can be launched by the name of Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
According to the Executive Director of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the company is also expanding its production capacity, and to reduce the cost of cars, the company can manufacture parts and components at the local level.
By April 2020, all models of the company will be in line with BS-VI standards and undoubtedly, cars with BS-VI standards will give more mileage and, at the same time they will be much safer. The company will launch 15 models by the year 2020 out of which 8 models have already been launched.
